Sum Function

  • The Microsoft Excel sum function adds all numbers in a range of cells and returns the results.
  • If you need to sum a column or row of numbers, then click Autosum on the Home tab.
  • When you click Autosum, Excel automatically enters a formula to sum the numbers.


  • You can also write the formula in the formula bar at the top of the window.
  • Formula is sum(range).


  • You can also sum numbers by creating a simple formula.
  • once you create formula you can copy it to other formula.
